Hadith 2038

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا عُشَّانَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْقَاعِدُ عَلَى الصَّلاةِ كَالْقَانِتِ ، وَيُكْتَبُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ مِنْ حِينِ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : أَبُو عُشَّانَةَ اسْمُهُ حَيُّ بْنُ يُؤْمِنَ الْمَعَافِرِيُّ ، مِنْ ثِقَاتِ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The person who waits for the prayer while sitting is like the one who is performing the prayer, and when the worshipper leaves his house, reward is recorded for him until he returns to his house." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu ‘Ashanah is Hiyy bin Abdullah Maghafi, and he is a trustworthy narrator from Egypt.
