أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُكْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ وَضَّاحٍ ، عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : مَا نَسِيتُ مِنَ الأَشْيَاءِ ، فَإِنِّي لَمْ أَنَسَ تَسْلِيمَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّلاةِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ : " السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ ، السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَيَاضِ خَدَّيْهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : وَيُقَالُ : مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ أَبِي وَضَّاحٍ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I can forget everything but I cannot forget this. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), during prayer, would turn to the right and to the left saying: "As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah, as-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah." Then Sayyiduna Abdullah said: The whiteness of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cheeks is as if it is still before my eyes today. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) It has been mentioned that the name of Muhammad bin Muslim’s grandfather is Abu Waddah.
