أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا كَامِلُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلاءِ ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي صَلاتِهِ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الثَّبَاتَ فِي الأَمْرِ ، وَعَزِيمَةَ الرُّشْدِ ، وَشُكْرَ نِعْمَتِكَ ، وَحُسْنَ عِبَادَتِكَ ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ قَلْبًا سَلِيمًا ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا تَعْلَمُ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا تَعْلَمُ ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا تَعْلَمُ " .
Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this in prayer: "O Allah! I ask You for steadfastness in faith, determination in guidance, gratitude for Your blessings, and excellence in worshipping You. I ask You for a sound heart, and I ask You for the good of that which is in Your knowledge, and I seek refuge with You from the evil of that which is in Your knowledge, and I seek Your forgiveness for whatever (sins or shortcomings) are in Your knowledge."
