Hadith 194

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّارُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ فِي الْخُطْبَةِ : " لا إِيمَانَ لِمَنْ لا أَمَانَةَ لَهُ ، وَلا دِينَ لِمَنْ لا عَهْدَ لَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us. He said: "He who does not have trustworthiness has no faith, and he who does not keep his promise has no religion (i.e., the one who does not fulfill his promises)."
