Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: (One night I woke up) and I found the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) absent, although he had been with me on the bed before. (In the darkness, I tried to search for him) and I found him in the state of prostration. He had his heels upright and the tips of his toes were facing the Qiblah. I heard him saying: "O Allah! I seek Your pleasure in place of Your displeasure, Your forgiveness in place of Your punishment, and I seek refuge in You from You. I praise You, but I cannot encompass (all the praise) that is due to You." When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) finished this, he said: O Aisha! Did your devil try to mislead you? I said: Where did my devil come from? The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Every human has his own specific devil with him. I asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Do you also have one with you? The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: I also have one, but I prayed to Allah for him, so he accepted Islam.
