Hadith 1882

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُصْعَبَ بْنَ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، يَقُولُ : صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ أَبِي ، فَطَبَّقْتُ بَيْنَ كَفَّيَّ ، ثُمَّ وَضَعْتُهُمَا بَيْنَ فَخِذِيَّ ، فَنَهَانِي عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، وَقَالَ : " كُنَّا نَفْعَلُ هَذَا ، فَنُهِينَا عَنْهُ ، وَأُمِرْنَا أَنْ نَضَعَ عَلَى الرُّكَبِ " .
Mus'ab bin Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas narrates: I performed prayer beside my father. I placed my hands together between my palms and then put them between my knees. My father forbade me from this and said, "We used to do this before, then we were forbidden from it, and we were commanded to place (our hands) on the knees."
