أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، وَذَكَرَ ابْنَ سَلْمٍ آخَرَ مَعَهُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَسْلَمَ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ ، ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ ، يَقُولُ : تَبِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ رَاكِبٌ ، فَجَعَلْتُ يَدِي عَلَى قَدَمِهِ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَقْرِئْنِي إِمَّا مِنْ سُورَةِ هُودٍ ، وَإِمَّا مِنْ سُورَةِ يُوسُفَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا عُقْبَةُ بْنَ عَامِرٍ ، إِنَّكَ لَنْ تَقْرَأَ سُورَةً أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ ، وَلا أَبْلَغَ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ أَنْ تَقْرَأَ : قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ سورة الفلق آية 1 ، فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ لا تَفُوتَكَ فِي صَلاةٍ فَافْعَلْ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَسْلَمُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ ، كُنْيَتُهُ : أَبُو عِمْرَانَ ، مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ ، مِنْ جُمْلَةِ تَابِعِيهَا .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was riding. I placed my hand on his noble foot. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Teach me recitation—either Surah Hud or Surah Yusuf. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: O Uqbah bin Amir! You will not recite any surah that is more beloved to Allah Almighty and reaches Him more than Surah Al-Falaq. If you are able, then recite it in every prayer. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The kunyah of Aslam bin Imran is Abu Imran; he was among the people of Egypt and among the Tabi‘een there.
