Hadith 1814

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلاقَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَمِّي ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصُّبْحَ ، فَسَمِعَهُ : " يَقْرَأُ فِي إِحْدَى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ مِنَ الصُّبْحِ : وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ سورة ق آية 10 " ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : وَسَأَلْتُهُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى ، فَقَالَ : " سَمِعْتُهُ يَقْرَأُ بِ ق " .
Ziyad bin ‘Ilaqah narrates: My uncle reports: He offered the Fajr prayer behind the Prophet (peace be upon him), and he heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) recite in one of the two rak‘ahs of the Fajr prayer this verse: “And tall date-palms with ranged clusters.” Shu‘bah says: I asked my teacher about this hadith a second time, so he narrated these words: He heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) reciting Surah Qaf.
