Hadith 180

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ وَرْدَانَ بِمِصْرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْمُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ ، وَالْمُؤْمِنُ مَنْ آمَنَهُ النَّاسُ عَلَى دِمَائِهِمْ وَأَمْوَالِهِمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims are safe, and a believer is the one from whom others are safe regarding their lives and wealth."
