Hadith 1770

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَطَاءَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّا مَعْشَرَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ أُمِرْنَا أَنْ نُؤَخِّرَ سُحُورَنَا ، وَنُعَجِّلَ فِطْرَنَا ، وَأَنْ نُمْسِكَ بِأَيْمَانِنَا عَلَى شَمَائِلِنَا فِي صَلاتِنَا " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : سَمِعَ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، وَطَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We, the group of Prophets, have been commanded to delay our pre-dawn meal (suhoor), to hasten in breaking our fast (iftar), and during prayer, to hold our left hands with our right hands." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Ibn Wahb heard this narration from Umar bin Harith and Talha bin Amr, who narrated it from Ata bin Abi Rabah.
