باب فضل الصلوات الخمس - ذكر البيان بأن الله جل وعلا إنما يغفر بالصلوات الخمس ذنوب مصليها إذا كان مجتنبا للكبائر دون من لم يجتنبهاChapter on Virtue of the Five Prayers - Clarification that Allah forgives the sins of those who pray if they avoid major sins.
Hadith 1733

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الصَّلَوَاتُ الْخَمْسُ ، وَالْجُمُعَةُ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ ، كَفَّارَاتٌ لَمَّا بَيْنَهُنَّ ، مَا لَمْ يَغْشَ الْكَبَائِرَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "The five prayers and one Friday to the next Friday become expiation for the sins committed in between, as long as major sins are not committed."
