Hadith 1709

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ " أَنَّهَا اسْتَعَارَتْ قِلادَةً مِنْ أَسْمَاءَ فَهَلَكَتْ ، فَأَرْسَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَاسًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فِي طَلَبِهَا ، وَأَدْرَكَتْهُمُ الصَّلاةُ ، فَصَلُّوا بِغَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ ، فَلَمَّا أَتَوَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَكَوْا ذَلِكَ إِلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ التَّيَمُّمِ " ، فَقَالَ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ : " جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا ، فَوَاللَّهِ مَا نَزَلَ بِكَ أَمْرٌ قَطُّ إِلا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مِنْهُ مَخْرَجًا ، وَجَعَلَ فِيهِ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ بَرَكَةً " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: She borrowed a necklace from Lady Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) for temporary use, and it got lost. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent some of his companions to search for it. The time for prayer came upon them, and they performed the prayer without ablution. When they presented themselves before the Prophet (peace be upon him), they complained to him about this matter, so the verse regarding the command of tayammum was revealed. Upon this, Sayyiduna Usayd bin Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him) said (addressing Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her): "May Allah reward you with goodness! By Allah, whenever you are faced with any difficulty, Allah makes a way out of it and brings blessings for the Muslims through it."
