Hadith 1683

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفِيانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا سَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ ، قَالَ : وَأَنَا وَأَنَا " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would hear the muezzin (giving the call to prayer), he would say: I also affirm (what you are saying).
