Hadith 1545

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا طَلَعَ حَاجِبُ الشَّمْسِ فَلا تُصَلُّوا حَتَّى يَبْرُزَ ، ثُمَّ صَلُّوا ، فَإِذَا غَابَ حَاجِبُ الشَّمْسِ ، فَلا تُصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ ، ثُمَّ صَلُّوا ، وَلا تَحَيَّنُوا بِصَلاتِكُمْ طُلُوعَ الشَّمْسِ ، وَلا غُرُوبِهَا ، وَإِنَّهَا تَطْلُعُ بَيْنَ قَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When the edge of the sun appears, do not perform prayer until it has fully risen, then you may perform prayer. Then when the edge of the sun sets, do not perform prayer until it has completely set, then you may perform prayer. And do not fix the time of your prayer for the time of sunrise or sunset (i.e., do not perform prayer at that time), because it rises between the two horns of Satan."
