Abu Amr Shaibani narrates: The owner of this house has narrated a hadith to us. He indicated towards the house of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) while saying this. (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, says) He asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): Which deed is most beloved to Allah Almighty? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: To perform the prayer at its appointed time. He asked: Then which one? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: To treat parents with kindness. He asked: Then which one? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Striving in the way of Allah. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) only informed me about these things; if I had asked for more, he would have given more answers. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Abu Amr Shaibani is among the Mukhadramin; when a person has spent sixty years in the time of disbelief and sixty years in the time of Islam, he is called a Mukhadram.
