Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no negligence in sleep; negligence is for the one who does not perform the prayer until the time for the next prayer arrives." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used the word 'negligence' here for the person who does not perform the prayer until the time for the next prayer comes, so this is a clear statement that such a person will not be a disbeliever, because if that were the case, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not have used the word 'delay' or 'negligence' for this act instead of the word 'disbelief'.
