Hadith 1456

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَحْرٍ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عَقِيلِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَجْمَعَ بَيْنَ الصَّلاتَيْنِ فِي السَّفَرِ ، أَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ أَوَّلُ وَقْتِ الْعَصْرِ ، ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَهُمَا " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to combine two prayers during a journey, he would delay the Zuhr prayer until the beginning time of Asr entered, then he would perform both prayers together.
