Hadith 1444

أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ ، فَسَمِعْتُهَا تَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنَ الْخَلاءِ قَالَ : غُفْرَانَكَ " .
Yusuf bin Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father: I presented myself in the service of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and I heard her saying that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would come out of the toilet, he used to say: "Ghufranak" (meaning: I seek Your forgiveness).
