Hadith 1431

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي أَنَا لَكُمْ مِثْلُ الْوَالِدِ ، أُعَلَمْكُمْ ، إِذَا أَتَيْتُمُ الْغَائِطَ فَلا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ ، وَلا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا ، وَلا يَسْتَنْجِ أَحَدُكُمْ بِيَمِينِهِ ، وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِثَلاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ ، وَيَنْهَى عَنِ الرَّوْثَةِ وَالرِّمَّةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am to you like a father; I teach and train you. When you go to relieve yourselves, do not face the Qiblah nor turn your back towards it, and no person should clean himself with his right hand." (The narrator states) The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to command the use of three stones for cleaning and forbade cleaning with dung or bones.
