أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ السَّعْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْحُشُوشَ مُحْتَضَرَةٌ ، فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ فَلْيَقُلْ : أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : الْحَدِيثُ مَشْهُورٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ وَسَعِيدٍ جَمِيعًا وَهُوَ مَا تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ قَتَادَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (At the place of relieving oneself) devils are present, so when a person is about to enter (the place of relieving oneself), he should recite this: "I seek refuge in Allah from the male and female devils." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) This narration is well-known from both Shu’bah and Sa’eed, and this is the narration in which Qatadah is unique in transmitting it.
