حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا
شُرَيْحُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُفِيانُ ، عَنْ
هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ
فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الِمَنْذِرِ ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهَا
أَسْمَاءَ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضِ ، فَقَالَ : " حتِيهِ ، ثُمَّ اقْرُصِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ ، ثُمَّ رُشِّيهِ ، وَصَلِّي فِيهِ " . قال أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : الأَمْرُ بِالْحَتِّ وَالرَّشِ أَمْرَ نَدْبٍ لا حَتْمٍ ، وَالأَمْرُ بِالْقَرْصِ بِالْمَاءِ مُقِرُّونَ بِشَرْطِهِ ، وَهُوَ إِزَالَةُ الْعَيْنِ ، فَإِزَالَةُ الْعَيْنِ فَرْضٌ ، وَالْقَرْصُ بِالْمَاءِ نَفْلٌ إِذَا قَدَرَ عَلَى إِزَالَتِهِ بِغَيْرِ قَرْصٍ ، وَالأَمْرُ بِالصَّلاةِ فِي ذَلِكَ الثَّوْبِ بَعْدَ غَسْلِهِ أَمْرُ إِبَاحَةٍ لا حَتْمٍ .
Lady Asma bint Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A woman asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about menstrual blood (i.e., that which gets on clothes), so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Scrape it off, then rub it with water, then sprinkle water over it, then pray in that (garment)." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The command to scrape and sprinkle water is for recommendation, not obligation, and the command to rub it with water is connected to its condition, which is the removal of the impurity. So, the removal of the impurity is obligatory, and rubbing it with water is supererogatory, if it is possible to remove the impurity without rubbing. And after washing the garment, the command to pray in that garment is for permissibility, not for obligation.
