أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفِيانُ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، مَوْلَى أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ ، قَالَتْ : سألتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضِ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ ، فَقَالَ : " غْسِلِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ وَالسِّدْرِ وَحُكِّيهِ بِضِلَعٍ " . قال أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اغْسِلِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ " أَمْرُ فَرْضٍ ، وَذِكْرُ السِّدْرِ وَالْحَكِّ بِالضِّلَعِ أَمْرُ نَدْبٍ وَإِرْشَادٍ .
Sayyida Umm Qais bint Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about the menstrual blood that gets on clothes. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Wash it with water and lotus leaves, and scrape it off with a bone. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says: The statement of the Prophet (peace be upon him) "Wash it with water" is a mandatory command, while the mention of lotus leaves and scraping with a bone is a recommendation and guidance.)
