Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: One of my daughters became ill, so I prepared nabidh (a drink made from dates or raisins soaked in water) for her in a jug. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came, and it had started to ferment. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What is this? Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: One of my daughters is ill, so we have prepared nabidh for her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah the Exalted has not placed your cure in that which is forbidden.
