Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Umm Habibah bint Jahsh came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). She had been suffering from istihada (non-menstrual bleeding) for seven years. She mentioned this matter before the Prophet (peace be upon him) and asked him about the issue. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to her: This is not menstruation, rather it is blood from another vein. Perform ghusl and offer prayer. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates, so Umm Habibah bint Jahsh used to perform ghusl for every prayer. She would sit in a tub, and the redness of the blood would dominate the water, then she would offer prayer.
