Hadith 1349

أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلْتَ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : أَتَقْضِي الْحَائِضُ الصَّلاةَ ؟ فَقَالَتْ " أَحَرُورِيَّةٌ أَنْتِ ؟ قَدْ " كُنَّا نَحِيضُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلا نَقْضِي ، وَلا نُؤْمَرُ بِقَضَاءٍ " .
A woman named Mu’adhah narrates that a woman asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): “Will a menstruating woman make up the missed prayers?” Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: “Are you a Haruriyyah (i.e., from the Khawarij sect)? During the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to menstruate, and we neither made up the missed prayers nor were we ordered to do so.”
