Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyidah Sawdah bint Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with her) had a goat that died. She said: O Messenger of Allah! So-and-so has died, meaning the goat. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Why do you not take its skin? She said: Should we take the skin of a goat that has died? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: (Allah Almighty) has said: "Say: I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden..." until the end of the verse. (Then the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:) There is no harm in it; tan its skin and benefit from it. The narrator says: Then we sent it to that woman, so she tanned its skin and made a water bag from it until it wore out.
