Salim bin Abdullah narrates from his father, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Envy is permitted only towards two types of people. One is the person to whom Allah has given knowledge of His Book, and he remains engaged with it day and night; and the other is the person to whom Allah has given wealth, and he spends it in charity day and night."
