ذكر إباحة الحسد لمن أوتي كتاب الله تعالى فقام به آناء الليل والنهار-Permissibility of envy towards those given the Book of Allah and who recite it day and night
Hadith 125

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أبيه ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا حَسَدَ إِلا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ : رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ الِلَّهِ الْقُرْآنَ ، فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بِهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ ، وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ ، وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ الِلَّهِ مَالا ، فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُ مِنْهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ ، وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ " .
Salim narrates from his father, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Envy is permitted only towards two types of people. One is the person whom Allah has granted knowledge of the Qur'an, and he remains engaged with it day and night; and the other is the person whom Allah has granted wealth, and he spends it day and night."
