أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، بِالأُبُلَّةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مُسْلَمْ صَاحِبُ الْحِنَّاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ ، وَأَنَا أَغْتَسِلُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، فَقَالَ : أَغُسْلُكَ هَذَا مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ ؟ قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : أَعِدْ غُسْلا آخَرَ ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنِ اغْتَسَلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، لَمْ يَزَلْ طَاهِرًا إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ الأُخْرَى " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَمْ يَزَلْ طَاهِرًا إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ الأُخْرَى ، يُرِيدُ بِهِ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ ، لأَنَّ مَنْ حَضَرَ الْجُمُعَةَ بِشَرَائِطِهَا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ الْجُمُعَةِ الأُخْرَى .
Abdullah bin Abu Qatadah narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah came to me and I performed ghusl (ritual bath) on Friday. He asked: Did you perform this ghusl for janabah (major ritual impurity)? I replied: Yes. He said: Perform ghusl again, because I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say: "Whoever performs ghusl on Friday remains in a state of purity until the next Friday." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The statement of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "He remains pure until the next Friday," means that he remains pure from sins, because whoever participates in the Friday prayer with its conditions, the sins committed between this Friday and the next Friday are forgiven.
