Hadith 1217

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمْةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ ، تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلاةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنَامَ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) intended to sleep in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), he would perform ablution (wudu) similar to the ablution for prayer before sleeping.
