Hadith 1212

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، وَالْحَوْضِيُّ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ عُمَرَ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : تُصِيبُنِي الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ ؟ قَالَ : " اغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأْ ، ثُمَّ ارْقُدْ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: (Sometimes) I become junub (in a state of major ritual impurity) at night, so what should I do? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wash your private parts, then perform ablution and go to sleep.
