Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was encamped in the upper part of Makkah. I came to him, and Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) brought a large vessel of water to the Prophet (peace be upon him). Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I saw traces of flour in that vessel. Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Then Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) set up a curtain for the Prophet (peace be upon him), then he performed ghusl (ritual bath). Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) set up a curtain for Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him), then he performed ghusl. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed eight rak‘ahs of prayer. This was at the time of Duha (forenoon). (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) It is possible that on the day of the conquest of Makkah, when the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed ghusl, both his daughter Sayyida Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) and Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) set up the curtain for him, using the same cloth. So, the slave of Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her), Abu Murrah, narrated the report in which only Sayyida Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) is mentioned, and Matlub bin Hantab narrated the report in which only Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) is mentioned. In this case, there is no contradiction or difference between the two reports, because on that day the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed ghusl only once. That is why, when Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to perform ghusl, the Prophet (peace be upon him) set up the curtain for him. Sayyida Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) did not do so.
