Sayyida Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: On the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, I came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and found him performing ghusl (ritual bath). His daughter, Sayyida Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), had set up a curtain with a cloth for privacy. Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I greeted (with salam), so the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked: Who is it? I replied: Umm Hani bint Abi Talib. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Welcome, Umm Hani. Then, when he finished his ghusl, he stood and performed eight rak‘ahs of prayer, in which he had wrapped himself with a single garment as an izar (covering). When he completed the prayer, I said to him: O Messenger of Allah! My brother, Sayyidina Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), says that he will kill a person whom I have granted protection, meaning so-and-so ibn Hubayrah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: O Umm Hani! Whom you have granted protection, we also grant protection. (Sayyida Umm Hani, may Allah be pleased with her, narrates) This happened at the time of Duha (forenoon).
