Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Learn the Qur’an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciter on the Day of Resurrection. And you must adhere to the two shining ones: Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran, for they will come on the Day of Resurrection as if they are two clouds, or as if they are two shades, or as if they are two flocks of birds in ranks, and they will argue on behalf of their reciters (i.e., intercede for them). You must recite Surah Al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, and leaving it is a cause of regret, and the false people (i.e., magicians) cannot withstand it.”
