Hadith 1146

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَكَلَ أَثْوَارَ أَقِطٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : أَتَدْرُونَ لِمَ تَوَضَّأْتُ ؟ إِنِّي أَكَلْتُ أَثْوَارَ أَقِطٍ ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " تَوَضَّأْ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ " . وَكَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ يَتَوَضَّأُ مِنَ السُّكَّرِ .
Ibrahim bin Abdullah narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) ate pieces of cheese and performed ablution. Then he said, "Do you know why I performed ablution? I have eaten pieces of cheese. I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Perform ablution after eating things cooked on fire.'" Umar bin Abdul Aziz used to perform ablution after eating sugar.
