Ibn Hibban

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Bread and meat were presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he ate it. Then he asked for water for ablution and performed the Zuhr prayer. Then he asked for the remaining food and ate it, then performed the Asr prayer and did not perform ablution again. I, along with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), presented myself before him, and he asked: "Is there anything (to eat)?" but nothing was found. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Where is that goat of yours which had given birth?" Then he instructed me regarding it, so I untied it and milked it, then prepared food for him. He ate it, then performed the prayer before making ablution. I, along with Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), presented myself before him, and I placed a bowl in which there was bread and meat. We ate it, then performed the prayer without making ablution again. The same narration is also transmitted from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) through another chain.
