Hadith 1110

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ ، يَقُولُ : بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عَلَى بَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جُلُوسٌ إِذْ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَحْمِلُ أُمَامَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ ، وَأُمُّهَا زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَهِيَ صَبِيَّةٌ ، فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ ، يَضَعُهَا إِذَا رَكَعَ ، وَيُعِيدُهَا عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ إِذَا قَامَ ، حَتَّى قَضَى صَلاتَهُ ، يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ بِهَا " .
Amr bin Salim Zurqi narrates: He heard Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah saying, "Once we were sitting at the door of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Meanwhile, the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to us, carrying Sayyida Umamah bint Abi Al-As. The mother of this girl was Sayyida Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the daughter of the Prophet (peace be upon him). She was still a young girl. The Prophet (peace be upon him) performed the prayer while the girl was on his shoulder. When he went into bowing (ruku'), he put her down on the ground to one side. When he stood up, he picked her up again onto his shoulder, and in this manner, the Prophet (peace be upon him) completed the prayer."
