Hadith 109

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَوْثَرَةُ بْنُ أَشْرَسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْنَا ، وَلِي أَخٌ صَغِيرٌ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ ، فَقَالَ : " أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ ، مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ ؟ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit us. I had a younger brother whose nickname was Abu Umair. One day the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to our house, and he asked: "O Abu Umair! What happened to your bird?"
