Hadith 1086

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ فَغَرَفَ غَرْفَةً فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ، ثُمَّ غَرَفَ غَرْفَةً فَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى ، ثُمَّ غَرَفَ غَرْفَةً فَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى ، ثُمَّ غَرَفَ غَرْفَةً فَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ وَأُذُنَيْهِ دَاخِلَهُمَا بِالسَّبَّابَتَيْنِ ، وَخَالَفَ بِإِبْهَامَيْهِ إِلَى ظَاهِرِ أُذُنَيْهِ ، فَمَسَحَ ظَاهِرَهُمَا وَبَاطِنَهُمَا ، ثُمَّ غَرَفَ غَرْفَةً فَغَسَلَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُمْنَى ، ثُمَّ غَرَفَ غَرْفَةً فَغَسَلَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَى " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) while performing ablution took water in his palm. He washed his face, then took water in his palm and washed his right arm, then took water in his palm and washed his left arm, then took water in his palm and wiped his head and both ears. He wiped the inner parts with his index fingers. He placed the thumbs of both hands on the outer part. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) wiped both the inner and outer parts. Then he took water in his palm and washed his right foot, then took water in his palm and washed his left foot.
