Abd Khair narrates: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the field after performing the Fajr prayer. He sat down in the field, then he said to a boy: Bring me water for ablution. The boy brought a water vessel and a basin to him. Abd Khair narrates: We were sitting and watching him. The narrator says: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) took the vessel with his right hand and poured water onto his left hand, then he washed both his hands. Each time, he did not put his hand into the vessel, until he had washed both hands three times. Then he put his right hand into the vessel. The narrator says: He rinsed his mouth, put water into his nose, and cleaned his nose with his right hand. He did this three times. Then he washed his face three times, then washed his right arm up to the elbow three times, then washed his left arm up to the elbow three times. Then he put his right hand into the vessel until he immersed it, then took it out with the water in it and wiped his left hand. He wiped his head once with both hands. Then he poured water on his right foot with his left hand and washed it three times with his left hand. Then he poured water on his left foot three times with his right hand and washed it with his left hand. Then he put his hand into the vessel, took a handful from it, and drank it. Then he said: This is the way of ablution of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Whoever wants to see the way of ablution of the Prophet of Allah, this is his way of ablution.
