Amr bin Yahya narrates from his father: I was present with Amr bin Abu Hasan. He asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) about the method of ablution (wudu). So he called for a vessel of water for ablution and poured it onto his hand. He washed his hand three times, then put his hand into the vessel and rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose. He did this three times, each time taking water with his palm. Then he put his hand into the vessel and washed his face three times. Then he put his hand into the vessel and washed both his arms up to the elbows twice. Then he put his hand into the vessel and wiped his head. He moved his hands from the front to the back and then from the back to the front. Then he put his hand into the vessel and washed both his feet up to the ankles.
