Hadith 1056

Abd Khair narrates: Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) led the Fajr prayer, then came out into the courtyard and we also came along with him. He asked for water for ablution. A boy came to him carrying a vessel in which there was water and brought a basin. He took the vessel in his right hand and poured water onto his left hand and washed it three times. Then he washed both his hands before putting them into the vessel. Then he put his right hand into the vessel, then took a handful from it and rinsed his mouth and cleaned his nose. He did this three times. Then he put his hand into the vessel and washed his face three times, washed both arms three times, then wiped his head and the back part of his head with both hands. Then he put his right hand into the vessel and poured it over his right foot and washed it, then put his hand into the vessel and took it out, then washed the other foot. Then he said: Whoever wishes (that is, whoever wants) to see the ablution of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), then this is the way of the ablution of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
