Hadith 1051

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ ذَرِيحٍ ، بِعُكْبَرَا ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَوَّاسٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ بَاتَ طَاهِرًا بَاتَ فِي شِعَارِهِ مَلَكٌ ، فَلَمْ يَسْتَيْقِظْ إِلا قَالَ الْمَلَكُ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِعَبْدِكَ فُلانٍ ، فَإِنَّهُ بَاتَ طَاهِرًا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever spends the night in a state of ablution, an angel spends the night inside his blanket. When that person wakes up, the angel says: O Allah! Forgive so-and-so servant, for he spent the night in a state of ablution."
