Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to perform prayer. When he completed the prayer, he inquired: Where is the person who asked about the Hour? He replied: O Messenger of Allah! I am (here). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What preparation have you made for it? He replied: I have not made any great preparation for it, neither in terms of prayer nor in terms of fasting. (The narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words) He said: I have not prepared with any great deed, but I love Allah and His Messenger. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person will be with the one whom he loves on the Day of Judgment." (The narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words) "You will be with the one whom you love." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I have not seen the Muslims as happy about anything after accepting Islam as they were happy about this.
