Hadith 1032

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُجَيْرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ هِلالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ ، عَنْ فَرْوَةَ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ الأَشْجَعِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، قُلْتُ : حَدِّثِينِي بِشَيْءٍ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْعُو بِهِ . قَالَتْ : كَانَ يَقُولُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَمِلْتُ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا لَمْ أَعْمَلْ " .
Furwah bin Nawfal Al-Ashja'i reports: I requested from Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): I said, "Tell me about those words with which the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to supplicate." She informed me that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to say (that is, he used to supplicate with this prayer): "O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done and from the evil of what I have not done."
