Hadith 1011

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ، بِحَرَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَهْبِ بْنِ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهَؤُلاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ : " أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ أُرَدَّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الصَّدْرِ ، وَبَغْيِ الرِّجَالِ " .
Mus'ab bin Sa'd narrates from his father regarding the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that he used to supplicate: "I seek refuge with Allah from being returned to the most abject stage of life. I seek refuge with Allah from miserliness and cowardice. I seek refuge with Allah from the trial of the chest and from the rebellion of people."
