Hadith 998
998/1322 (صحيح الإسناد) عن أسلم، عن عمر بن الخطاب قال: "لا يكن حبك كلفاً، ولا بغضك تلفاً". فقلت: كيف ذاك؟ قال: "إذا أحببت كلفت كلف الصبي(1)، وإذا أبغضت أحببت لصاحبه التلف".
998/1322 (authentic chain) from Aslam, from Umar ibn al-Khattab who said: "Let not your love be infatuation, nor your hatred destruction." I said: How is that? He said: "When you love, do not be infatuated like a child, and when you hate, do not wish destruction upon your companion."
