Sahih Adab al-Mufrad

919/1205 (Sahih) From Hudhayfah who said: When the Prophet, peace be upon him, wanted to sleep, he would say: "In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live." And when he woke up from his sleep, he would say: "Praise be to Allah who gave us life after He caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection."

920/1206 (Sahih) From Anas who said: When the Prophet, peace be upon him, would go to his bed, he would say: "Praise be to Allah who has fed us, given us drink, sufficed us, and sheltered us. How many are there who have no one to suffice them or shelter them!"

921/1207 (Authentic from the statement of Abu al-Zubair, so it is mawquf and disconnected) from Jabir who said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would not sleep until he recited ?Alif Lam Meem, Tanzeel? [السجدة/1209], and ?Tabarak alladhi biyadihi al-mulk?." Abu al-Zubair said: "So they surpass every surah in the Qur'an by seventy good deeds, and whoever recites them will have seventy good deeds written for him, seventy degrees raised for him, and seventy sins removed from him."

922/1208 (Sahih Mawquf) Abdullah [ هو ابن مسعود] said: "Sleep during remembrance is from Shaytan. If you wish, then try it: when one of you takes his bed and wants to sleep, let him remember Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."

923/1212 (Sahih) From Abu Huraira who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say when he went to his bed: "O Allah, Lord of the heavens and the earth, and Lord of all things, Splitter of the grain and the date-stone, Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Qur'an, I seek refuge in You from the evil of every possessor of evil whom You hold by the forelock. You are the First, so there is nothing before You, and You are the Last, so there is nothing after You, and You are the Most High, so there is nothing above You, and You are the Most Near, so there is nothing nearer than You. Settle my debt for me and enrich me from poverty."
