Sahih Adab al-Mufrad

1136 / 870 (Sahih) From Abdur Rahman ibn Abi Amrah al-Ansari who said: Abu Sa'id al-Khudri was informed of a funeral. It was as if he delayed until the people had taken their seats, then he came with him. When the people saw him, they hurried to make room for him, and some of them stood up from their places so he could sit in their seat. He said: No, indeed I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "The best of gatherings are the most spacious." Then he moved aside and sat in a spacious place.
