Hadith 858
858/1121 (صحيح لغيره) عن هشام بن عروة قال: رأيت رسائل من رسائل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كلما انقضت قصة، قال: "أما بعد".
858/1121 (Sahih li-ghayrih) from Hisham ibn Urwah who said: I saw letters from the letters of the Prophet, peace be upon him; whenever a section ended, he said: "Amma ba'd."
From the elders of the family of Zayd ibn Thabit, that Zayd ibn Thabit wrote with this letter: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, to Abdullah Muawiya, Commander of the Faithful, from Zayd ibn Thabit. Peace be upon you, Commander of the Faithful, and the mercy of Allah. Indeed, I praise to you Allah, there is no deity except Him. To proceed.

عن أبي مَسْعُودٍ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ قَالَ: سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ الْحَسَنَ عَنْ قِرَاءَةِ بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ؟ قَالَ: تِلْكَ صُدُورُ الرَّسَائِلِ.
From Abu Mas‘ud al-Jurayri who said: A man asked al-Hasan about the recitation of “Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim.” He said: That is at the beginning of letters.
